It has a coastline on the Bight of Bonny. Much of the area of the LGA is occupied by the Edumanom National Forest. The brass city is home to a good number of tourist attraction centres in the state.

Tourist attractions in Brass city include beautiful Atlantic Ocean beaches, the graves of British soldiers who died in the Nembe-British fighting of 1895, Mungo Park Residence, Akassa Slave Transit Camp and Tunnel, Akassa Wildlife Forest as well as the old consulate buildings.

Gurara Falls

The Gurara falls is located in Niger state. It is very close to Abuja (the FCT), hence it is one of the easiest waterfalls to access in the country. 

It is a charming beauty to behold, with the sound of waters roaring thunderously through cliffs. It is however advised that one visits during the end of the rainy season when the waters are clear and still. 

The requirement to gain entrance into the premises is one thousand Naira. However, more will be required if you need a tour guide or a boat ride through the lake beneath the waterfall.

“It’s breathtaking, and I could not believe that such beauty exists in Nigeria. I am glad that I did not agree to travel abroad and I will visit the castle again for a holiday with friends! It’s an ideal setting with beautiful views and landscapes. They have a swimming pool, rooms and food cooked on request. Even our photographer was thankful for the fact that we invited him here. The Beach is popularly known as one of the longest sand seashores in Africa. Its ambience is one of serenity and splendour. It costs absolutely nothing to gain entrance into this Beach.

Kwa Falls

Kwa falls is the most notable waterfall in the South-South region of Nigeria. It is situated in Calabar, Cross River state and it is just about an hour thirty minute’s drive from the capital city of Calabar.

Her lush greenery is a beautiful gift of nature with about 250 steps constructed to give easier access to the water bedding below the waterfalls. If you love or have fantasized rock climbing, then this is one of the most notable places to visit.

Entrance to the resort cost five hundred Naira and as usual, with a little more, you can get a local as a tour guide.
